Aaight, new post time, why the fuck not. Someone wrote a comment asking me to write on marijuana. Probably some dumb ass stoner who will never read this anyways, but why the fuck not. So, i know that most everyone under the age of 30 nowadays thinks that weed should be legal and I'm no different, but I don't think that's enough. I mean the drug war is a retarded flushing of money, and the entire point of it is to tell me how I can spend my time. I live in Boulder, CO, in the US and here weed has pretty much gained the status of being legal these days. It's legal for medical use, and there are hundreds of doctors willing to say you have chronic headaches or anxiety and they recommend pot. I have a friend who said she has bad cramps on her period, and the doctor recommended that she have the ability to own 60 plants at a time. That's like 20 pounds of weed. For her period.
But, despite weed becoming slowly accepted by society, most drugs are still looked down upon. I don't think that there's too much to gain from injecting heroin, but I also don't think I have the right to tell an intelligent adult that he isn't allowed to. We should have the freedom to do whatever the fuck we want with our bodies. There should be an age limit, but as long as someone is an adult, they have the responsibility to know what they are putting into themselves, and should have the freedom to choose to use harmful things as well. Keeping heroin illegal does a few things:
1. Makes heroin more dangerous to use because you are unsure of the quality/additives
2. Keeps heroin addicts addicted, because they can't get treatment very easily
3. Spreads disease through dirty needle use, because needle exchange programs are rare
4. Fucks other countries over by making their income source based on the drugs they sell us
5. Fucks us over by making us spend ass loads of money instead of collecting taxes and adding an industry in the US.
This is the same for all drugs. When we try to limit the freedom of consenting, intelligent adults, all we are doing is fucking ourselves over. I think all drugs should be legal and regulated by the government, and this stupid fucking drug war should end.
I agree 100%. Let people make up their own minds, and buy from trusted sources instead of dealers on the street. Just because a drug is legal it does not mean that people will suddenly be forced to take it. The fact that weed is still illegal is just laughable now.
ReplyDeleteyes let's make heroin legal....facepalm
ReplyDeleteInteresting thoughts, followed
ReplyDeleteHeroin's good for ya xD
ReplyDeleteLegalising drugs is the least bad solution. If you legalise it you can collect tax, treat the addicts, and you can almost completely get rid of organised crime. Here in NZ they are looking to ban tobacco, that deserves a facepalm.
ReplyDelete100% same page as u... the more rules we make, the more chances there are for people to get in trouble needlessly. followed you, hit me back, follow!
ReplyDeleteyou are insane, but ill follow to see next insane ideas
ReplyDeleteI don't entire agree about legalizing some drugs like Meth or Crack Cocaine, but I can get on board with Heroin to some extent. I just think there should be some limitations, firstly because it is so incredibly addictive, and because people are fucking stupid.
ReplyDeleteI don't agree with legalizing the more harmful drugs. I don't mind marijuana, but some drugs shouldn't be legal.
ReplyDeleteCan speed be the new 5 hour energy? Or is that too far.
ReplyDeleteI don't see a problem with legalizing marijuana, but hard drugs (i.e.: meth) should still be criminalized.
ReplyDeleteI hate the whole gateway argument...the only reason it could be considered a gateway drug is because it's illegal in the first place so it's always found with other illegal drugs.
ReplyDeleteHard topic, the solution goes on education, you don't need to prohibite substances to your population if they have the right values (not to be confused with religious values)
ReplyDeleteNice insight i look forward to more.
ReplyDeleteYeah, I hate when friends buy from bad dealers, people they don't even know.
ReplyDeleteShit sucks.
Interesting. Followed!
ReplyDeleteRegulation of drugs would be so crazy, it'd be weird to see how the money situation turns out once they tax the hell out of that stuff.
ReplyDeleteFollowed.
Cool blog! followed'd
ReplyDeleteALL drugs legal? Not sure whether giving the entire population over 18 access to hard core drugs would be wise. Having them illegal and out of the public eye is a good thing, though i completely understand where your coming from. If the drugs were legal they could be better controlled and would indeed be more safe.
ReplyDeleteInteresting post. Heres to the next one!
It would be so smart of them to just legalize everything and regulate. Keep DUI's going on every substance and they'll make a huge profit as well as keeping the country just as safe as it is now
ReplyDeleteExcellent points of views.
ReplyDeleteVery deep thought's my friend
ReplyDeleteHeroin is a very hard subject to discuss for sure. The problem with it is that it is the single most addictive drug in the world, generating addiction from the very first does, and even intelligent adult humans make mistakes. Injecting with heroin for the first time could be one of them, maybe one night to look cool for your friends, maybe out of lack of information. Whatever the reason is to start, it doesn't mean automatically you're an idiot.
ReplyDeleteVery very interesting, keep it up.
ReplyDeleteThe mind is a terrible thing to waste...how true that is.
ReplyDeleteVery wise, drug users tend to question things more, and be more open minded. This has inspired me to do a similar blog on my opinions on drugs, and drug users.
ReplyDeleteHmm, interesting post. I dunno about legalising all..
ReplyDeleteI totally agree with your thoughts ! Followed
ReplyDeleteIn fact the goverments should give us freedom of choice, and i should not be punish for 0000.1g of marijuana my friend. How many young people are in jail because of small amount of MJ ? Drag addiction is another story.
ReplyDeleteGood point of view my friend. Keep it going!
Haha refreshing and original!
ReplyDeleteAll drugs legal would be a bad thing for a lot reasons. I can completely agree that weed should be legalized though. It's proven that drinking causes more health problems and accidental/avoidable deaths by leaps and bounds.
ReplyDeleteInteresting... Sorry to say, I must disagree however.
ReplyDeleteNice one!

Well spoken, you have a very libertarian point of view. Adults should be free to do as they wish so long as they don't infringe on the rights of others to do the same.
ReplyDeleteHeroin was invented by Bayer as a powerful cough suppressant. It works too.
ReplyDeleteI agree 100%. But there should be an end to Heroin somehow, it's too dangerous.
ReplyDeleteDrugs should be legalized. People are gonna do them anyways. Could you imagine if alcohol was illegal? you'd have people sneaking swigs from flasks in bathrooms everywhere, stealing just to pay for the extremely expensive hooch.
ReplyDeleteAlcohol WAS illegal at one time. Prohibition. Crime rates went up BIG TIME.
ReplyDeletewe are all on drugs..
ReplyDeletealso weed it's overrated
Drugs will never be legal because there is too much money to be made the ilegal way
ReplyDeleteI believe that as long as they don't hurt anybody else people should be free to do whatever they want with their own body. also the punishment for taking a drug is often worse than taking the drug itself.
ReplyDeleteNice blog I'm following
I haven't considered that view on harder drugs before. Whilst I see where you're coming from, I think the biggest reason these drugs (aside form pot) should stay illegal, are the fact that once legal, marketing will take it and have everyone into it.
ReplyDeleteThere'd of course have to be regulations, but just the fact that corporations could sell such an addictive substance - they know there'd be HUGE profits in that. Not only physically addicting - a friend of mine who had an issue with heroin told me he's never felt anything better in his entire life, and despite being clean off it for years, would love to go back to it at any minute if he had the chance.
We criticize the debt system in this country, but I think if opioids were more readily available the classes would further tank, possibly damaging those at the top too. dunno.
I agree Mu that immoral companies could be a problem, but i think that enough regulation and care would make it less of one. For instance, I think it was amsterdam that made heroin legal for a while, and right after they made it legal, use spiked, but after a couple years, use was the lowest it had ever been, much lower than use in the US. I think people can make smart decisions when faced honestly with information. I think it's time we start treating adults like adults
